Software Configuration and Release Management Engineer

Rate: £320 - £340 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: Manchester (80% onsite/20% remote)
Duration: Until July 2027

We're seeking a Software Configuration & Release Management Engineer to manage software releases, configuration control, and CI/CD processes within a complex Financial Services environment.

This role will be responsible for coordinating application and infrastructure releases, maintaining release governance, supporting deployment automation, and ensuring compliance within a highly regulated technology landscape.

• Proven experience in Configuration Management and Release Management.
• Strong knowledge of source control, branching strategies, and release governance.
• Experience managing releases across complex enterprise environments.
• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Mandatory experience within Financial Services, Banking, Investment Banking, Asset Management, Custody Banking, or other regulated financial environments.
• Experience with change management and audit-controlled delivery processes.
• Strong stakeholder management, planning, and communication skills.

• Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Bamboo, GitLab CI/CD
• ServiceNow Change Management
• AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Terraform, Ansible
• PowerShell, Bash, or Python

A detail-oriented release professional with a strong DevOps mindset and proven experience operating within Financial Services organisations, delivering controlled, compliant, and reliable software releases.
