Must be willing and eligible to go through the SC clearance process
Our Client is hiring for a reputed client to support the UK Strategic Command with expert system architecture, technical assurance, and migration design services for a secure multi-domain Military Messaging Solution (MMS). If you enjoy solving complex technical challenges while keeping governance and security front and centre, this is a role where your architecture decisions genuinely matter.
What you'll be doing:
- Own technical design accountability for the MMS target architecture and ensure strong architectural governance
- Develop and assure high-level and low-level designs for secure, multi-domain message routing across distinct security domains
- Verify system topologies align with standard protocols such as STANAG 4406, STANAG 5066, ACP127, and DOI 103(s)
- Support information assurance mapping, including security boundaries, cross-domain solutions, guard gateways and PKI token structures to meet defence accreditation needs
- Lead legacy modernisation and IP migration from synchronous serial infrastructure to IP-routed network environments
- Create obsolescence roadmaps for legacy cryptographic devices and message switches, including bridging architectures to maintain live service continuity
- Produce reference architectures for integration with CCEB (5-Eyes) and NATO multi-national messaging gateways
- Standardise configurations to securely onboard maritime endpoints (including mobile naval units and tactical nodes)
- Act as an independent technical advisor in project updates, stakeholder workshops, and maintain clear, timely communication
What you'll bring:
- Strong system architecture experience spanning HLD/LLD, routing and topology assurance
- Confidence working within MOD-aligned standards and frameworks, including JSP604/453
- Practical understanding of interoperability engineering and secure integration patterns
- The ability to communicate architecture decisions clearly to stakeholders and workshops
- A security-focused mindset, working within OFFICIAL and OFFICIAL-SENSITIVE classifications (with secure access)
