Overview

An established construction and property services organisation is seeking an experienced Business Development & Social Value Manager to support continued business growth while leading the delivery of social value commitments across projects, frameworks and client contracts.

This is a varied role combining business development, client relationship management, tender support, social value delivery and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will play a key role in securing future opportunities, maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring social value commitments are delivered effectively throughout project lifecycles.

Key Responsibilities

Social Value & Community Engagement

  • Develop and implement the organisation's Social Value strategy.
  • Coordinate and manage Social Value commitments across projects and frameworks.
  • Produce and oversee Employment & Skills Plans (ESPs).
  • Attend client, framework and stakeholder meetings relating to Social Value delivery.
  • Develop relationships with schools, colleges, charities, local authorities and community organisations.
  • Coordinate apprenticeship, training and employment initiatives.
  • Organise work experience placements and community engagement activities.
  • Monitor Social Value KPIs and produce client and internal reports.
  • Ensure contractual Social Value obligations are achieved and evidenced.
  • Promote Social Value successes through internal and external communications.

Business Development

  • Support the delivery of the company's growth and business development strategy.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across target sectors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, framework providers and key stakeholders.
  • Develop client engagement plans to encourage repeat business.
  • Attend networking events, client meetings and industry functions.
  • Monitor planning and procurement portals to identify future opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and business development activity.
  • Arrange and support client meetings, presentations and introductions.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity.

Tenders & Frameworks

  • Maintain an active pipeline of tender and framework opportunities.
  • Monitor procurement portals for upcoming projects.
  • Support PQQs, SQs, framework applications and tender submissions.
  • Produce high-quality written responses for quality submissions.
  • Gather and coordinate information from operational teams.
  • Maintain a library of case studies, project information and supporting documentation.
  • Attend pre-construction and tender review meetings.
  • Record tender outcomes and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.

Project Support

  • Support live projects with Social Value reporting requirements.
  • Attend project and client review meetings where required.
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure commitments are delivered.
  • Monitor apprenticeship, training and employment targets.
  • Maintain KPI trackers and evidence records.
  • Produce regular reports for clients and internal stakeholders.
