Working as a Senior Automation Engineer your aim is to deliver Automation expertise for day-to-day operational support. We will also want you to deliver efficiencies and improvements via improved process control and visualisation work. There will be data analysis tasks to complete, and we will want you to assist in ensuring that all new ICA installations meet with our Severn Trent Water standards.

LET'S TELL YOU MOREIn this role you will provide day to day automation support to water, waste & bio resources operational teams in the Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire Areas. You will primarily be responsible for programming, maintaining and repairing Rockwell & Mitsubishi PLC, HMI, SCADA systems and any associated industrial control networks. Experience working with Rockwell & Mitsubishi products and software is advantageous, however familiarisation and training on these products can be provided.
We will also want you to deliver water & waste treatment efficiencies and improvements through process control and visualisation improvements so experience working with telemetry systems and instrumentation for pressure, flow, level, chlorine residual, turbidity and ph measurement is preferred. Additionally, you will be expected to enable the use of accurate data to inform good decision making within the business and lead in the management of software backups and control for all ICA systems in our area.
You will be given the opportunity to further develop your own skills in role and lead in the development of our operational team's automation skills, whilst looking to deliver an improved customer experience through the innovative use of automation for predictive control of Non-Infra and Infra processes/assets. You will also be called upon to support and ensure new ICA systems are standardised and meet STW standards.
