LET'S TELL YOU MORE In this role you will provide day to day automation support to water, waste & bio resources operational teams in the Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire Areas. You will primarily be responsible for programming, maintaining and repairing Rockwell & Mitsubishi PLC, HMI, SCADA systems and any associated industrial control networks. Experience working with Rockwell & Mitsubishi products and software is advantageous, however familiarisation and training on these products can be provided. We will also want you to deliver water & waste treatment efficiencies and improvements through process control and visualisation improvements so experience working with telemetry systems and instrumentation for pressure, flow, level, chlorine residual, turbidity and ph measurement is preferred. Additionally, you will be expected to enable the use of accurate data to inform good decision making within the business and lead in the management of software backups and control for all ICA systems in our area. You will be given the opportunity to further develop your own skills in role and lead in the development of our operational team's automation skills, whilst looking to deliver an improved customer experience through the innovative use of automation for predictive control of Non-Infra and Infra processes/assets. You will also be called upon to support and ensure new ICA systems are standardised and meet STW standards. This brand-new team will train you to respond to water supply emergencies across the Severn Trent area in a 24/7 operation. EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW We have an exciting new opportunity to join our team as a Network Response Technician with no experience required to apply. This brand-new team will be part of a growing operational team - with a real sense of family, that is ready to welcome and train some new recruits with open arms. This hands on team is equivalent to the Severn Trent 'Emergency Services' who work 24/7, 365 days a year and are always ready to deploy and respond to no supply calls when they come in. As part of the Network Response Team, a typical day involves being prepared and ready for deployment anywhere within the Severn Trent area. You'll need to demonstrate flexibility by driving a range of vehicles from 4x4s to articulated tankers (don't worry if you haven't got a HGV driving license, we'll train you up!). The team's primary goal is to restore supply to customers within 3 hours of customers going off water supply. We achieve this through two main methods: the first is network injection, where we inject directly into the water pipes. The second method is through a reservoir hatch injection to make sure our reservoir remains full of water for customers to stay on supply. You'll be provided with excellent training to enable you to excel and successfully operate industry leading equipment, with the added bonus of being supported by a brilliant and supportive team. This role gives you the opportunity to create an excellent career path with your Class 1 & Class 2 driving courses included in your progression path.
