Everything you need to know Our Derbyshire Environmental Waste Networks Team is looking for a new Network Technician to join their team out of our Raynesway office. You'll work with other Network Technicians and work close with Technical Experts in your county to protect our sewer network and assets. Your priority will be working through proactive tasks to maintain our network, this will include things like: Combined Sewer Overflow, Non-return Valve, Air Valve, Syphon and Oil Interceptor inspections. There is also an element of reactive response tasks you will do such as assisting with customer investigations and misconnection surveys. Day to day responsibilities will also include: Lead and promote a safe working environment whilst ensuring quality standards are met. Identify and clearly define any necessary remedial / improvement works to the ancillary assets. Proactively seek and develop opportunities to mitigate the risk of network failures, including implementation of agreed measures. Investigate and respond to non-urgent customer service issues / queries as required taking ownership of the problem until full resolution. Investigate and respond to non-urgent enquiries / defect reports received from the Highways Authority, Environment Agency and Local Authorities. Work in close partnership with contract field workers to ensure overall delivery of company targets and objectives. With this being such a critical role, we're looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week, working from Monday - Thursday 8:00am-16:00pm and Fridays 8:00am - 15:30pm with a compulsory shared standby rota, which includes evenings and weekends. Any additional technical training required will also be covered. It is imperative that you hold at minimum of a standard driving license and would be preferred if you held a C1 or a Class 2. You'll be responsible for maintaining the required MCERTs standards and data processing for a large database, building a relationship with the front-line operational flow assurance team. Key Accountabilities Interpreting TeRIBI reports and E SCADA trends for all sites to identify any issues that need resolving or investigation, and liaising with other Flow Compliance Technicians and the front line operational flow assurance team to resolve issues promptly, with occasional site visits. Updating and analysing all relevant flow data spreadsheets to promptly identify potential issues which will assist in outlining the correct course of action. Being responsible for assuring data accuracy and reliability to maintain our quality management system and to ensure we align to regulator guidance and requirements. Undertaking environmental flow compliance tracking updates to feed into the monthly reporting and owning the reporting of annual regulatory data returns to the Environment Agency and Natural Resources Wales. Maintaining and improving the MCERTS database to ensure that all required data is held centrally and any reporting out of the database can be completed. Supporting the team manager with EA and NRW meetings and audit preparation. This role is data processing based but there will be opportunities to visit sites and this is very much encouraged.
