Cassandra Database Engineer

Location: London (1 - 2 days per week onsite)
Contract Length: 6 months initially
Daily Rate: Up to £730 (inside IR35 via umbrella)

Our client, a leading organisation in the banking sector, is seeking a talented individual to join their Financial Crime Technology team! This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise your NoSQL expertise in a fast-paced environment and contribute to enhancing fraud detection capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Implement: Craft Cassandra keyspaces, data models, and cluster architecture tailored for a high-throughput fraud detection platform.
Collaborate: Work closely with application and Middleware teams, ensuring seamless data integration and alignment with business goals.
Optimise: Take ownership of keyspace design, performance tuning, and operational readiness of the data platform.
Documentation: Produce essential design documentation and operational runbooks for effective knowledge transfer.

What You'll Bring:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
4-9 years of hands-on experience in NoSQL database engineering, specifically with Apache Cassandra.
Proficiency in keyspace and table design, replication strategies, and performance tuning.
Familiarity with Linux administration, CQL, and cluster operations.
Experience in regulated environments, with a keen understanding of security measures.
