Lead Android Engineer

Location: Nottingham, United Kingdom (Hybrid - 3 days in office Tuesday-Thursday, 2 days remote).

Lead Android Engineer responsible for setting the pace for multiple mobile engineering teams and owning the fully native Android applications that our customers love. You will drive architectural decisions, champion best practices, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating across product, design and engineering.

• Lead a cross functional team of Android engineers, coaches and product stakeholders.
• Own the complete Android app development cycle: architecture, code quality, performance and security.
• Architect and evolve product iterations with a strategic focus on scalability and maintainability.
• Advocate for testing and quality: TDD, BDD, pair programming; use JUnit and Espresso to deliver automated test suites.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment processes.
• Leverage AWS for cloud integration and optimisation.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin and Java, fluent with Android Studio.
• Demonstrated passion for creating high value customer products.
• Experience mentoring and coaching junior engineers.
