Overview

This is an opportunity to join a leading technology services organisation delivering consultancy into a highly secure environment. You will operate as a Senior Solution Architect, taking ownership of technical design, governance, and delivery assurance across complex, in-flight programmes.

The role requires an experienced consultant who can lead architecture strategy, engage senior stakeholders, and take control of challenging or at-risk projects. You will also contribute to pre-sales and solution shaping, ensuring that technical solutions are robust, scalable, and commercially aligned.

This position is suited to someone with strong experience across Microsoft enterprise technologies, who is comfortable working onsite within secure environments and operating across both technical and business domains.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical governance across in-flight projects, ensuring alignment to architectural standards and best practice
• Lead the design and implementation of complex technical solutions across Microsoft enterprise environments
• Own and deliver technical pre-sales activities, including solution design, bid input, and cost modelling
• Lead customer strategy and opportunity sessions, presenting solutions at both a technical and commercial level
• Take ownership of remediation activities across in-flight bids and delivery, resolving technical and programme issues
• Perform quality assurance of technical deliverables, ensuring accuracy and consistency across outputs
• Identify and develop additional opportunities within existing engagements
• Manage and communicate technical risks, ensuring exposure is minimised
• Operate within structured delivery frameworks including PRINCE2 and Agile methodologies
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and governance artefacts
• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, customers, and partners
• Demonstrate experience operating as a Senior/Lead Solution Architect within enterprise environments
• Lead solution design, architecture governance, and costing activities across complex programmes
• Apply architecture best practices and frameworks such as TOGAF
• Design and deliver solutions across Microsoft technologies including:
  • Intune
  • Windows 11
  • Entra ID (Azure AD)
  • Active Directory (on-prem and hybrid)
  • Microsoft Defender and XDR
  • Privileged Identity Management (PIM)
  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM)
• Operate effectively within secure or highly regulated environments
• Engage and influence senior stakeholders, providing both technical and strategic guidance
• Support pre-sales, bid responses, and commercial solution shaping
• Stabilise and recover complex or underperforming programmes
• Incorporate knowledge of complementary technologies where required, such as:
  • Azure and Windows Server
  • Endpoint and privileged access security tools (eg CyberArk, BeyondTrust, Trellix)
  • Desktop virtualisation solutions (Citrix, Horizon, Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365)
  • Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, SharePoint)
  • Apple device management (Jamf)
  • Workspace ONE
