Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Central London

£550 - £600 p/d (outside IR35)

3 month initial term

A leading construction engineering business is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their team. They are a well-established business about to enter a period of considerable operational change, including merger and acquisition activity, making it an exciting time to join and be part of their journey.

Reporting into the Infrastructure Manager, you will oversee core infrastructure and networking. You'll work closely with managed service providers to ensure seamless operations and business continuity, whilst taking a lead on regular site set-ups and supporting infrastructure integration across newly acquired entities.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage office and site networks, aligning with business strategy

Act as an escalation point for the Service Desk Team

Set up and configure Local Area Networks (LANs), including hardware deployment and support

Coordinate with third-party MSPs for network and infrastructure management

Manage firewall operations and connectivity with ISPs

Oversee network IP addressing and VPN setups

Support business continuity through proactive incident management

Rapid deployment of site connectivity solutions, including 4G routers

Monitor network health and performance, ensuring high availability and resilience

Maintain inventory and configuration records for infrastructure and software

Collaborate with the Security Operations Center on network security

Support software licensing and upgrades

Support data privacy and security audits

Maintain server rooms and ensure operational efficiency

Develop and implement business processes and documentation

Support M&A activity, including infrastructure due diligence, integration planning and execution

Lead tenant-to-tenant migrations (e.g., Microsoft 365/Azure), ensuring minimal disruption to business operations

Assist with onboarding newly acquired businesses, including network integration, identity consolidation and systems alignment

Requirements:

Strong knowledge of Azure infrastructure management

Strong in network protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, etc.); ideally candidates must hold a CCNA/CCNP etc.

Experience with FortiGate Firewalls and Windows Operating Systems

Familiarity with WAN, LAN, VPN and wireless networks

Proven experience supporting M&A activities, including tenant-to-tenant migrations and infrastructure integration

Experience with Microsoft 365 migrations, Azure AD/Entra ID and hybrid environments is highly desirable
