Hybrid working within this role enables a balance of 50 per cent of time split between the office and home over a 4-week period. Hybrid working arrangements can evolve subject to business requirements.
We at TfL Engineering are recruiting for a Senior Civil Engineer to provide technical leadership and assurance across TfL's multidisciplinary civils assets. You'll initially be assigned to the prestigious Elizabeth Line as Lead Civil Asset Engineer, working on one of the UK's most complex and high profile railway infrastructures.
This role is ideal for an experienced engineer ready to operate as a senior technical authority, examining engineering challenges, developing practical solutions and supporting programmes of work aligned to the Mayor's Transport Strategy.
The RoleAs a Senior Engineer within the Multidisciplinary Civil Engineering team, you'll provide civil engineering expertise to support a wide range of asset, project and management related engineering activities. You'll assess complex engineering problems and develop viable, value led solutions that meet safety, performance and business objectives.
Working within established engineering governance, you'll provide professional advice, challenge and assurance to ensure engineering outcomes are safe, compliant, sustainable and deliver long term value.
You'll initially join Rail for London Infrastructure (RfLi) as the Lead Civil Asset Engineer, for the Central Operating Section of the Elizabeth Line (Abbey Wood to Paddington) and Great Eastern stations.
Your responsibilities will include:
You'll work closely with key stakeholders, including the operator GTS and other engineering disciplines, to coordinate and resolve issues that affect civils asset performance and railway operability.
About YouYou'll be a Chartered Civil Engineer, a Member of ICE or another recognised institution (or working towards chartership), with strong knowledge of civil engineering standards, legislation and best practice.

Experience working with Network Rail standards (NR/L2/RSE/02009, NR/L2/CIV/003 and NR/L2/CIV/1000) and assurance frameworks, including roles such as NR Project Engineer, NR Asset Engineer or NR Designated Project Engineer, is highly beneficial.
