IT Compliance Analyst - Birmingham (remote), £30,000

We're working with a rapidly growing construction business with offices across the UK for an additional Compliance Analyst to join the Information Security team. The successful Compliance Analyst will be focused on supporting the Head of Information Security & Compliance and wider team in complying with the Group of Companies obligations to meet legislative and compliance requirements.

This role will require to be onsite 1-2 days a week in their midlands office - ahowever the business operate a flexible working policy whether that be remote working, part time, working around schools runs etc.

This role will suit someone with an analytical mind, strong attention to detail and someone that loves to solve problems. The ideal candidate will have commercial experience within a compliance role previously with huge ambition to grow their career within the Information Security space.

As a Compliance Analyst you will be doing the following:

  • Ensure that the Group conforms with subject access requests made under the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA) including searches, data collection, data review and redaction
  • Support the Group and Divisional legal and HR teams with internal investigations and litigation defence
  • Support the Information Security Compliance Manager with internal and external auditing programmes to ensure that we maintain our certifications and compliant to the relevant legislation
  • Perform data risk assessments (DPIA's) to understand risk level, significance, and scope and assist with maintaining our Record of Processing Activities (RPA);

Essential experience required for the Compliance Analyst:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar compliance or information governance role and knowledge and understating of IS and Risk Management is desirable but not essential
  • Background in a customer facing role, ideally a compliance or data protection arena.
  • Working knowledge of ISO27001 or other security frameworks (Cyber Essentials, NIST CSF).
  • Willingness to undertake training for security accreditations and associated certifications
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
