We are looking for Automation Tester at Glasgow, Scotland - 2-3 days per week Onsite

Role Description:

Test Automation/SDETs (.Net/C#)

• To build automation test packs from the ground up for Windows Services and WPF Uls using Net/C#.
• Note, we have no web applications so do not need that skill set.
• Demonstratable experience of the following:
  • Strong recent test automation using C#
  • 5+ years recent experience

Role Summary

• We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong expertise in .NET/C# test automation to design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience automating testing for Windows-based desktop applications, Windows Services, and WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) user interfaces.
• This role requires a hands-on automation professional who can establish scalable automation frameworks, implement robust test suites, and integrate testing practices into CI/CD pipelines to improve software quality, reliability, and delivery speed.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using C# and .NET technologies.
• Build end-to-end automation test packs from scratch for:
  • Windows Services
  • WPF Desktop Applications
  • Backend components and service layers

• Develop reusable automation utilities, libraries, and testing components.
• Create automated functional, regression, integration, and system-level test suites.
• Collaborate closely with Software Developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and QA teams to understand requirements and testing needs.
• Participate in requirement analysis and identify automation opportunities early in the development life cycle.
• Ensure automation scripts are maintainable, scalable, and aligned with coding best practices.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
• Analyze test execution results and provide detailed defect reports and root cause analysis.
• Support release validation and production readiness activities.
• Continuously improve test coverage, framework performance, and automation effectiveness.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET Framework/.NET Core.
• Minimum 5+ years of recent experience in Test Automation and SDET roles.
• Proven experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
• Strong automation testing experience for:
  • Windows Desktop Applications
  • WPF Applications
  • Windows Services

• Experience designing and implementing robust automation architectures.
• Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Quality Engineering practices.
• Experience with Unit Testing and Integration Testing frameworks.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Experience working with source control systems such as Git or Azure DevOps Repositories.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automated test execution pipelines.
