We're recruiting for a Senior Infrastructure Integration Engineer with strong Linux administration, Python development, and automation expertise to integrate, secure, and enhance large-scale infrastructure platforms for a leading financial services organisation. The role focuses on vulnerability remediation, secure coding, CI/CD automation, testing, validation, and safe production rollouts across distributed infrastructure environments - requiring hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Ansible/Terraform), virtualisation (VMware), DevOps practices, distributed systems, and production-grade troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work across multiple infrastructure and automation codebases to remediate identified security vulnerabilities, designing, implementing, and validating secure, stable, and maintainable code changes
  • Act as integration engineer, connecting vendor, open-source, and internally developed solutions into the firm's infrastructure platform
  • Develop and maintain automation using Python and related tooling
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated test coverage, and release validation processes
  • Create test plans and validation procedures for security-related code and configuration changes
  • Use lab and pre-production environments to test complex changes before production rollout
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, security, and application teams to assess impact and drive remediation to completion
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, documentation, and technical planning
  • Support infrastructure-as-code initiatives using tools such as Ansible and Terraform
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement of platform reliability, security posture, and engineering practices

What You Will Ideally Bring

  • Strong expertise in Linux/Unix administration, system configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
  • Proficiency in Python programming for automation, Scripting, and infrastructure engineering
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and automated deployment processes
  • Hands-on knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Terraform, SaltStack, or similar
  • Understanding of distributed systems architecture and large-scale production environments
  • Experience in vulnerability remediation, system hardening, secure coding practices, and security compliance
  • Strong skills in infrastructure integration, including vendor, open-source, and internally developed platforms
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks, test planning, validation, and production rollout strategies
  • Knowledge of VMware virtualisation, private cloud platforms, and infrastructure management technologies
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills with a DevOps mindset
  • Perl Scripting alongside Python automation (desirable)
  • Exposure to Puppet, Chef, or SaltStack in addition to Ansible/Terraform (desirable)
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift (desirable)
  • Experience integrating REST APIs and automation platforms (desirable)
  • Understanding of vulnerability scanning and remediation tools (desirable)
