Integration Engineer

About the role
We are recruiting an Integration Engineer to join a well-established, 45-strong engineering team based in Christchurch. You will support a range of projects centred on a fully integrated command-and-control system.
This long-term opportunity sits within an exciting systems and software programme covering design, development, installation, implementation, integration, acceptance, training and logistics support. The programme is managed from the Christchurch site and delivered to customers at various locations.
This is a practical, hands-on role involving the production of technical artefacts and the implementation of virtual and physical core components that form the backbone of secure platforms.
What you'll be doing
- Build and configure Windows Server 2025 and Windows 11 operating systems.
- Integrate and configure commercial off-the-shelf and bespoke software.
- Apply established software engineering practices, including testing.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in production environments through to successful conclusion.
- Produce clear, concise and accurate technical documentation.
- Collaborate with colleagues by sharing knowledge and peer reviewing work.
- Report progress and provide constructive feedback to team members and leadership.
- Travel occasionally to customer sites to support deployment, investigations and testing.
What we're looking for
You will be an experienced engineer who can work independently, contribute effectively within a multidisciplinary team and mentor junior engineers. A diploma or degree in an engineering discipline would be beneficial, although no specific qualification is required.
Essential knowledge and skills
- Knowledge of Windows deployment tools.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2025 and Windows 11.
- Knowledge of modern development practices, including testing.
- Experience with Group Policy and Active Directory.
- Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation.
- PowerShell experience for installing and configuring commercial off-the-shelf and bespoke software.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers.
- CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- SharePoint administration.
- At least five years' experience integrating operating systems, commercial off-the-shelf products and bespoke software.
- Windows image creation and deployment.
- Red Hat Linux.
Desirable experience Security clearance
Applicants must hold a minimum of SC clearance without caveats and be willing to undergo DV clearance. Existing DV clearance would be advantageous.
