Location: London - 5 Days On-Site
Contract: 6 months
Day Rate: £440 per day Inside IR35

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Python/React Full Stack Developer to join a major banking technology environment in London.

This is a hands-on development role for a strong full-stack engineer who can work across Python Back End services and React Front End applications. You will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining scalable applications within an enterprise banking environment.

Banking/Financial Services experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable applications using Python and React.js.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices.
• Develop modern, responsive Front End applications using React.js, TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Work with architects, product owners, DevOps and QA teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Develop cloud-native applications and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production and performance issues.
• Participate in code reviews and follow modern engineering best practices.
• Work within an Agile/Scrum delivery environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial Python development experience.
• Strong commercial React.js experience.
• Banking/Financial Services experience - essential.
• Experience with FastAPI, Flask or Django.
• Strong experience developing REST APIs and microservices.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript knowledge.
• React Hooks and Redux.
• Strong SQL and database experience, ideally PostgreSQL, MySQL or SQL Server.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git.
• Experience working within large-scale enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of OOP and software engineering principles.
• Agile/Scrum experience.

Desirable

• AWS, Azure or GCP experience.
• Kafka or RabbitMQ/event-driven architecture.
• Terraform/Infrastructure as Code.
• PyTest and Jest.
• MongoDB.
• Experience building highly scalable, distributed applications.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a genuine Full Stack Developer, rather than someone who is primarily Front End or Back End focused.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record delivering Python and React solutions within banking or financial services, be comfortable working across the full development life cycle, and have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
