Python Developer - Telecom Automation

Location: Ipswich/London UK

Working Model: Hybrid - 3 days onsite
Contract: 12 months
Rate: £400 per day

Role

We are looking for an experienced Python Developer to build automation solutions, Back End services and tooling for large-scale telecom network operations.

You will develop REST APIs, automation frameworks and data-driven applications supporting testing, monitoring and operational efficiency across 5G and enterprise platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop Python automation frameworks and scripts for network testing and operational workflows.
• Build REST APIs using Flask or FastAPI.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Build and maintain Docker containers and CI/CD pipelines.
• Support Linux-based deployments and Bash Scripting.
• Integrate with telecom systems and APIs for validation, monitoring and health checks.
• Collaborate with QA, Network Engineering and DevOps teams.

Essential Skills

• 4+ years of professional Python development experience.
• Strong Flask/FastAPI and REST API development experience.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL and MongoDB/Redis.
• Strong Linux and Bash Scripting skills.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Docker Compose, Git and CI/CD.
• Experience with Python libraries such as requests, paramiko, subprocess and pandas.
• Good understanding of HTTP, TCP/IP, DNS and SSH.
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS and Jinja2.

Desirable

• Telecom or network automation experience across 4G/5G environments.
• Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• OpenStack or infrastructure as code.
• Pytest, Selenium or Playwright.
• Grafana, ELK or Prometheus.
