An exciting opportunity has opened up in the Data Engineering team within Staffordshire ICT. If you enjoy investigating data sources, overcoming technical challenges, and working with industry standard and cutting edge technologies then this may be the role for you!

Working with a team of seven talented and experienced Data Engineers you will design, and deliver data generation and processing routines for a variety of corporate data sources.

The role will be focused on the identification of data sources, connectivity, loading, and transforming the data to provide models that are business ready.

You will also be exposed to cutting edge technologies as the team transition to Microsoft Fabric.

The role is permanent and hybrid allowing you the flexibility in where you work. However, you will occasionally be required in Staffordshire Place 1 for training or meetings.

The post is eligible for flexitime which allows you to work your hours between 07:30 and 19:30 Monday to Friday.

Evening and weekend work may be required for specific projects, but is not the normal pattern.

On a daily basis you will:

• Investigate and analyse customer requirements
• Investigate and analyse data sources
• Design and implement load and transformation routines into the corporate data warehouse
• Investigate and resolve production issues
• Contribute to team scrums
• Contribute technically to meeting with internal and external customer and suppliers
• Work with technical colleagues to achieve the desired outcomes

The minimum essential criteria that will be used to shortlist are:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
• Significant proven experience with the Microsoft SQL reporting stack, including, but not limited to SSIS, SSMS, SQL Studio, Visual Studio, PowerBI
• Significant proven experience with Transact SQL
• Ability to participate in workshops
• Significant proven experience of data loading, and data manipulation techniques
• Significant proven experience of data analysis
• Significant proven experience of translating customer requirements into technical requirements

Additionally the following skills would be beneficial:

• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric
• Experience with Python notebooks
• Knowledge of the ZappySys toolset
• Experience using Azure Devops
