IT Project Delivery Manager

Are you an experienced Project Delivery leader looking to shape the future of project delivery within a growing Managed Service Provider (MSP)?

We're looking for an exceptional IT Project Delivery Manager to lead our Project Delivery function, driving operational excellence, developing high performing teams, and ensuring customers receive an effortless project experience from inception through to successful delivery.

This is more than a delivery management role. You'll play a key part in shaping our delivery strategy, improving governance, mentoring talented professionals, and helping our business continue to grow through outstanding customer outcomes.

About the Role

As our IT Project Delivery Manager, you'll provide strategic leadership across the Project Delivery function, overseeing a portfolio of customer projects while leading a team of Project Managers and Professional Services Engineers.

You'll ensure projects are delivered consistently, efficiently, and to the highest standards through strong governance, effective resource planning, and excellent stakeholder management.

Working closely with Sales, Solutions, Service Operations and Senior Leadership, you'll help build a scalable, customer-focused delivery capability that supports long-term business growth.

What You'll Be Doing Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of Project Managers and Professional Services Engineers.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and customer focus.
• Conduct regular one-to-ones, mentoring and performance reviews.
• Support career development and succession planning within the delivery team.
• Recognise success and proactively address performance challenges.

Project Delivery Leadership

• Provide oversight across a diverse portfolio of customer projects.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, on budget and to agreed quality standards.
• Act as the senior escalation point for delivery risks, customer concerns and complex project issues.
• Chair project governance meetings, portfolio reviews and resource planning sessions.
• Build trusted relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.

Operational Excellence

You'll ensure our Project Delivery function consistently provides an effortless customer experience through:

• Clear, proactive communication
• Strong governance and accountability
• Effective risk and issue management
• Minimal disruption to customer operations
• High-quality documentation and reporting
• Drive improvements across delivery processes, governance and methodologies.
• Monitor KPIs relating to delivery performance, customer satisfaction and utilisation.
• Use reporting and data to identify trends and improve operational performance.
• Champion lessons learned and standardisation across all projects.

Strategic Leadership

• Contribute to the strategic development of our Professional Services and Project Delivery function.
• Develop scalable delivery frameworks that support business growth.
• Promote innovation through modern project management practices, automation and AI where appropriate.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align delivery capability with wider business objectives.

About You

You'll be an experienced delivery leader who enjoys developing people as much as delivering successful projects.

You'll bring:

• At least 3 years' experience in a Project Delivery Manager, Professional Services Manager or similar leadership role within an MSP.
• Experience managing teams of Project Managers and Professional Services Engineers.
• A strong background delivering infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity and digital transformation projects.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience implementing delivery governance and project standards.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance customer expectations and operational priorities.
• Experience using reporting and performance metrics to drive continual improvement.

Desirable Qualifications

• APM PMQ
• Agile certification
• Managing Successful Programmes (MSP)
• Other recognised project management qualifications

Technical Knowledge

You'll have a solid understanding of:

• Delivery Governance
• Risk, Issue, Change and Dependency Management
• Resource Planning and Capacity Management
• MSP delivery frameworks
• Project reporting and KPI management
• Microsoft 365
• Modern infrastructure and cloud delivery
• Right to work in the UK
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Willingness to travel to customer sites when required
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening, including DBS and reference checks
