Configuration Engineer

Configuration Engineer - £13.45 per hour via umbrella - 1 month Rolling temp- Birmingham - Onsite - SCC Flex Contract

We are currently seeking a Configuration Engineer (Temp) to join a busy Configuration Centre in Birmingham on an onsite basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Configuration Engineer (Temp) with experience handling IT equipment, system builds and hardware configuration in a fast-paced production environment. 
 
Your responsibilities as the Configuration Engineer (Temp):

• Support all Configuration Service production areas as required.
• Quality assure your own work, maintaining a consistently high standard of accuracy.
• Carry out operational configuration and build processes in line with documented standards and procedures.
• Test and configure a variety of products to customer-specific requirements within agreed timescales.
• Configure and test products in accordance with manufacturers' instructions, ensuring satisfactory operation.
• Mentor and support new starters and colleagues to maintain service levels and operational efficiency.
• Assist with day-to-day production activities when required.
• Capture all required build information and status updates within relevant business systems.
• Handle IT equipment of varying weights and sizes in accordance with manual handling guidelines.
• Work towards configuration and operational KPIs.
• Support the daily operation of the Commissioning Complex through effective completion of duties and additional reasonable tasks.
• Undertake training to support server configuration activities where required.
• Follow ISO-accredited standards and processes relevant to the Configuration Centre.

As a successful Configuration Engineer (Temp), you will have:

• BTEC/NVQ in PC/Information Technology or an equivalent qualification.
• CompTIA A+ certification, or demonstrable experience handling IT equipment in a similar role.
• Previous experience working as a Configuration Engineer (Temp), Build Technician, Configuration Technician or similar.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience working effectively within a team environment.
• Ability to learn new technologies and systems quickly.
• Experience with server upgrades and configuration activities.
• A methodical approach with the ability to follow documented processes accurately.
• SC Clearance eligiblity
