Data Architect - AWS, Databricks & MongoDB | Insurance Domain

I'm currently partnered with a leading organisation seeking an experienced Data Architect to drive the design and implementation of next-generation cloud data platforms within the UK Insurance sector.

This role is ideal for a senior architecture professional with a strong background in AWS, Databricks, and MongoDB, combined with deep expertise in insurance data, regulatory reporting, and enterprise-scale transformation programmes.

What You'll Be Doing

• Define and champion enterprise-wide data architecture and cloud strategy
• Design scalable cloud-native Lakehouse solutions leveraging AWS and Databricks
• Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models
• Lead complex data transformation, modernisation, and cloud migration initiatives
• Establish best practices around data governance, security, quality, and lineage
• Engage with senior business stakeholders, technology leaders, and delivery teams
• Provide architectural leadership and mentor engineering and data teams

Required Experience

• 12+ years' experience in Data Architecture and Enterprise Data Management
• Strong hands-on expertise with AWS, Databricks, and MongoDB
• Proven success delivering large-scale cloud data platforms and modern data ecosystems
• Deep understanding of data governance, modelling, regulatory compliance, and architecture frameworks
• Experience operating within complex financial services environments

Domain Expertise - Essential

• UK Specialty Insurance
• Reinsurance
• FCA & PRA regulatory frameworks
• Solvency II reporting
• Insurance data models and regulatory reporting processes
