Outline of role
We are looking for anexperienced and commercially minded IT Manager to lead and optimise our ITservice delivery, supplier management, technology governance, and cybersecurity framework. Based in Castleford and reporting to the Head of ProjectSupport, you will play a key role in ensuring our technology services are secure,cost-effective, high-performing, and aligned with business objectives.
This role is responsible formanaging third-party IT suppliers and significant IT spend, driving continuousimprovement across service delivery, and developing technology strategies thatsupport business growth and transformation.
Main responsibilities
- Lead themanagement of external IT suppliers, contracts, licensing agreements, andtechnology partners.
- Manage andoptimise IT expenditure, ensuring value for money and effective supplierperformance.
- Review andchallenge technical proposals, quotations, and recommended solutions.
- Oversee servicedesk performance, identifying trends, recurring issues, and opportunities forcontinuous improvement.
- Define andmonitor IT service metrics, ensuring agreed service levels are achieved.
- Develop andimplement the organisation's IT strategy and technology roadmap.
- Own IT securitygovernance, risk management, vulnerability management, and policy compliance.
- Leadinvestigations and remediation activities relating to IT incidents and securityrisks.
- Develop andmaintain effective IT asset management processes, including lifecycle andhardware refresh programmes.
- Support businesstransformation initiatives and system implementation projects.
- Provide technicalexpertise and guidance on technology architecture and solution design.
- Workcollaboratively with stakeholders across the business to ensure technologysupports operational efficiency and future growth.
Knowledge and experiencerequired
- Strong experiencein IT management, service delivery, and supplier management within a senior ITrole.
- Proven experiencemanaging third-party suppliers, contracts, and commercial relationships.
- Experienceoverseeing IT budgets and delivering cost-saving initiatives.
- Soundunderstanding of IT service management principles and continuous improvementmethodologies.
- Knowledge ofcyber security, risk management, governance, and compliance practices.
- Experiencedeveloping and implementing IT strategies and technology roadmaps.
- Understanding ofIT asset management and lifecycle management processes.
- Experienceanalysing service performance data and driving service improvements.
- Desirableknowledge of cyber security frameworks such as ISO 27001 or Cyber Essentials.
- Experiencesupporting business change, transformation programmes, and technology projectsis advantageous.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degreein Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, orequivalent practical experience.
