About the role

This is an opportunity to join St. James's Place as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer within Technology Operations, providing senior technical expertise across Microsoft, Azure and hybrid infrastructure services. You will support critical business platforms, deliver complex change, provide technical guidance and consultancy across projects, identify opportunities for automation and improvement, and help ensure services remain secure, resilient and reliable while mentoring colleagues and contributing to the wider technical direction of the team.

What you'll be doing
  • Provide senior technical support and consultancy across Microsoft, Azure and hybrid infrastructure services.
  • Resolve complex incidents and deliver operational maintenance in line with agreed SLAs, policies and standards.
  • Work with Cloud Operations, Cyber, Network Engineering, Solution Architects, Application teams and project teams to design and support infrastructure solutions.
  • Assess and deliver complex infrastructure change for Technology Operations and wider business projects.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, service improvement, cost efficiency and risk reduction.
  • Mentor colleagues, share knowledge and contribute to the technical direction of the team.
About you

We are seeking a highly technical and proactive Senior Infrastructure Engineer who can take ownership of complex issues, work collaboratively across teams and provide clear technical guidance. You will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced enterprise environment, balancing reliability, security and delivery while keeping your knowledge current as platforms and tooling evolve.

  • Strong experience supporting Microsoft, Azure and hybrid infrastructure in an enterprise environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and recommend fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Experience delivering infrastructure change, operational maintenance and service improvements.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to advise stakeholders and mentor colleagues.
  • Experience with PowerShell or other automation approaches.
  • Knowledge of identity, access control, monitoring, high availability or disaster recovery.
  • Relevant Microsoft Azure certification, such as AZ-104, or equivalent practical experience.
