At Nexperia Manchester, we are expanding our Applications team with the addition of a Power Electronics Application Engineer. Our Power MOSFET groups supply high-quality devices to the automotive, industrial, computing, and consumer sectors, providing advanced solutions for the electrification of the automotive industry and the high-density power requirements of AI and data centre infrastructure. What you will do
- Designing, debugging and validating MOSFET-based circuits for high current systems
- Creating technical literature, demo boards, reference designs, design-in tools, simulations and evaluation testbenches for advanced power distribution architectures, such as 48V power distribution systems
- Working closely with the field and directly with customers, translating their requirements, application trends and system level challenges into new product specifications and roadmap inputs
- Acting as a capable technical interface for strategic customers, global sales teams, field application engineers and internal stakeholders
- Representing the business as a subject matter expert in customer meetings, customer visits, internal technical discussions, training sessions and industry-facing activities
What you will need
- Essential A Degree or equivalent in Electronics Engineering, Power Electronics, Physics or a relevant discipline
- Significant experience in power electronics, with the ability to operate as a technical authority in customer facing and cross functional environments
- The legal right and willingness to travel globally, occasionally on short notice to key technology hubs (e.g. USA/Asia) without significant visa processing delays
- Interest in AI infrastructure and Data Centre power systems
- Experience of the following would be beneficial AI infrastructure, data centre, server power, telecoms, industrial, automotive or other high-reliability power systems
- Experience working with common power electronics applications and 48V systems
- Expertise in circuit simulation (e.g. SIMPLIS, LTspice, PSpice etc) and PCB design
- High current MOSFET operation, MOSFET SOA, transient analysis knowledge and thermal design
- Proven expertise in circuit simulation (e.g. LTspice, PSpice, SIMPLIS or equivalent) and PCB design
