Job Description

Cardiac Investigations Unit Administrator

An opportunity has arisen to join the Cardiac Investigations Unit as a Band 3 Administrator. The successful candidate will join the team and play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality cardiac care.

We're looking for someone organised, proactive, and confident using IT systems, with excellent communication skills.

Main duties of the job

To provide a fully comprehensive administrative service to CIU

To act as first point of contact for all forms of communication for the CIU team from patients and staff

To assist in the organisation of CIU team clinical workload and manage referrals and bookings

To work independently, prioritising and managing own workload quickly and accurately, responding to the needs of the department.

To report waiting list outcomes to senior management

Person Specification Education
  • GCSE English Language (Grade C or above)
  • NVQ3 in Business Administration or equivalent
Experience
  • Computer literacy with experience of word processing, databases, spreadsheets, presentations and email
  • Clerical/Office administration experience within a healthcare environment
Skills
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Ability to liaise with other staff and departments
  • Ability to work as a team in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Understanding of the need for confidentiality
  • Ability to work autonomously, coordinate, and prioritise.
  • Excellent customer care skills
