Job Description

Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity? Join a managed service provider with over 2 decades of experience delivering innovative IT, cloud, networking, cybersecurity, and communications solutions. Trusted by organisations across the UK, the company combines technical expertise with customer-focused services to help businesses modernise, secure, and optimise their technology environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career engineer to join a network-focused technical support team, supporting enterprise networking environments rather than general IT.

The successful candidate will gain hands on experience with Cisco networking and Fortinet security technologies while working within a structured shift pattern that provides a strong work life balance and ongoing technical development.

The organisation is looking for someone with a genuine passion for networking and a strong desire to build a long term career in routing, switching, and network security. A proactive attitude, curiosity, and willingness to learn are highly valued, with structured training, certifications, and clear career progression available for those looking to continuously develop their technical expertise.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support across enterprise network environments.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network incidents.
  • Work across routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior engineers when required.
  • Maintain accurate ticket updates and technical documentation.
  • Work as part of a shift-based team to ensure continuous support coverage.
  • Continuously develop technical knowledge and skills.
Technical Environment
  • Cisco networking (routing and switching).
  • Fortinet / FortiGate firewalls.
  • Enterprise network environments.
Skills / Must Have
  • BSc in Computer Networks, Cyber Security, or a related field, or CCNA certification.
  • Early-career or graduate-level candidates preferred.
  • Not suitable for current students.
  • Strong interest in network engineering rather than cloud-focused roles.
  • Committed to building a long-term career in networking.
  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for learning and self-development.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to take ownership.
  • Must demonstrate progression, curiosity, and a strong drive to develop, rather than remaining stagnant in the same role.
  • Able to clearly articulate interest and motivation during the interview process.
Working Pattern
  • Harrogate-based (2 days per week onsite)
  • Shift rotation:
    • 2 days (7am - 7pm)
    • 2 nights (7pm - 7am)
    • 4 days off
Benefits
  • Certifications and training fully supported.
  • Strong progression opportunities within networking.
  • Exposure to enterprise network environments.
  • Structured shift pattern with extended time off.
Salary
  • £27,500, increasing to £30,000 upon successful completion of probation.
  • 20% shift allowance.
