Job Description

The Quality Technician role, based in Alcester, involves inspecting high-precision metal components for aerospace, defence, and power generation sectors.

This full-time position, offering £34,000 to £36,000 annually, requires performing inspections using 3D optical scanners alongside manual and visual techniques.

Responsibilities include populating the inspection database with dimensions, sentencing parts on optical and CMM equipment, and supporting non-conformance processes by raising rejects and ensuring containment.

Close liaison with engineering is needed for smooth new product transitions, alongside completing FAIR packs.

Candidates should possess relevant inspection skills and experience within a manufacturing environment.

The company are a manufacturer in Alcester manufacturing high-precision fabricated and machined metal components, for the aerospace, defence, and power generation industries.

They are seeking to recruit a Quality Technician for their operations.

Salary £34,000 to £36,000 per annum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspection operations using 3D Optical scanners
  • Performing 1st and final inspections using manual and visual techniques
  • Population of the inspection database with all relevant dimensions
  • Sentencing of all parts inspected on optical (Keyence, Scan, OGP) and CMM
  • Supporting the internal non conformance process - raising rejects and ensuring all containment is captured
  • Liaise closely with the engineering team to ensure smooth transition of new products
  • Completion of FAIR packs
Required Skills & Experience
  • Must be familiar with quality control procedures and standards and have held a quality control role in a manufacturing environment
  • Able to read and interpret engineering and product drawings CAD knowledge
  • Strong communication skills and an attention to detail
  • Strong team player
  • An advantage would be to hold experience of the aerospace industry

The role is Lates - Monday to Wednesday 4.30pm to 2.30am - Thursday 4.30pm to 1.30pm

The role is based in Alcester so is commutable from Redditch, Studley, Bromsgrove, Solihull, Stratford upon Avon, Worcester.
