Department Overview
The Evidence and Devices Engineering team is responsible for Motorola Solutions' body cameras, vehicle cameras and evidence management software leveraged in public safety and enterprise applications worldwide. We are a thriving and growing company in search of an Embedded Software Engineer to join our devices team at the Edinburgh, Scotland site.
Job Description
- Analyzes, designs, develops and maintains robust automated test scripts and frameworks for the organization's products.
- Performs system integration testing of software and hardware to maintain throughput and ensure overall program consistency.
- Develops, validates and updates automation test structures, test cases and internal technical documentation.
- Assists in resolving customer field issues on live production systems.
- Troubleshoots client/server product issues and maintains high availability standards.
Basic Requirements
- Position is located in the Edinburgh City Centre office.
- High level of written English required.
- Minimum 3+ years of quality assurance experience in Agile Development environments.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience with automated testing tools or equivalent automation skills or software development.
- Experience using hardware devices is a bonus.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks and quickly adjust in a rapidly changing environment.

Experience
- 2-5 years of software engineering experience with knowledge of HTML, CSS, TypeScript and ideally modern front end frameworks.
- Understanding of application state patterns, data flows (e.g., Pinia, Vuex, or Redux) and reactivity/observables.
- Hands on experience with RESTful API, websockets.
- Solid understanding of web development principles.
- Good foundation in data structures/algorithms and design patterns.
- Demonstrated team player skills and a willingness to work with others.
