South Devon Collegeare looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infrastructure team within IT Services.This is a hands-on role supporting Microsoft 365,Azureand on-premises environments, helping to keep services reliable for thousands of users across the College.It would suit someone with strong infrastructure experience who enjoys solving technical challenges, developing their cloudskillsand working as part of a dedicated team.

We are particularly interested in candidates with strong server and storage experience who can helpmaintainand improve reliable, secure infrastructure services.

You will have:

  • Experience supporting digital infrastructure in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of network, server,communicationsand cloud services.
  • Practical knowledge of switching, wireless, connectivity, structured cabling,virtualisationand backup solutions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Server, Microsoft 365, Azureservicesand Teams telephony.
  • Ability tomaintainreliable,secureand available infrastructure for day-to-day operations.
  • Confidence resolving incidents, servicerequestsand complex technical issues.
  • Experience following technical standards, change processes and escalation routes.
  • A proactive, analytical approach, withstrong communicationskills and a willingness to keep developing technicalexpertise.
Key responsibilities
  • Provide advanced support across Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, and wider infrastructure platforms.
  • Resolve escalated incidents, servicerequestsand complex technical issues, helping to minimise disruption to College services.
  • Maintain and improve network, server,storageand cloud infrastructure so servicesremainreliable,secureand available.
  • Contribute to infrastructure projects, upgrades,migrationsand technical documentation, working collaboratively across IT Services.
  • Supervision of an Infrastructure Engineer.

This role is based on campus in Paignton, Devon. Due to the nature of the work, applicants will need to be able to work from ourmain office.
