Head of Facilities Management

3 Months (Interim)
£696 per day
Inside IR35 (via umbrella)

Are you an experienced Head of Facilities Management looking for your next senior leadership challenge? This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a diverse property portfolio, leading the strategic direction, governance, compliance and operational delivery of facilities management services.

Reporting into the Deputy Director of Finance and Property, you will play a key role in ensuring property assets are safe, compliant, efficient and delivering maximum value. You will also have the opportunity to drive sustainability initiatives, support net carbon zero ambitions and influence key decisions with senior officers and elected members.

Your Role as Head of Facilities Management
  • Lead the strategic direction and governance of Facilities Management services across a large and complex property portfolio.
  • Oversee contract management, procurement and supplier performance, ensuring value for money and service excellence.
  • Drive compliance with all statutory, regulatory and legislative requirements relating to property ownership and occupation.
  • Lead programmes of asset maintenance, lifecycle investment, energy efficiency and net carbon zero improvements.
  • Provide expert advice and reporting to senior leaders, Cabinet Members and stakeholders on property and facilities matters.
Your Previous Experience as Head of Facilities Management
  • Significant experience leading Facilities Management, Property Operations or Building Management services at a senior level.
  • Strong knowledge of contract management, procurement, compliance and statutory building responsibilities.
  • Degree qualified in Facilities Management or a related discipline.
  • Professional membership such as CIWFM or equivalent accreditation.
  • PRINCE2 or similar project management qualification, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects and programmes.
