Network Engineer - End Device
Location: Emley Moor, UK (Hybrid - Shift-Based)

About the Role
We are recruiting for a Network Engineer - End Device to join a leading UK infrastructure and telecommunications organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Network Engineer to work within a highly skilled operations team, supporting critical broadcast, telecoms, and data network infrastructure.
Working on a hybrid, shift-based rota, you will be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving complex network environments while ensuring high levels of service availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned maintenance across network and communication systems.
- Respond to network faults and service outages, carrying out corrective maintenance.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and modify existing systems and networks.
- Conduct testing and measurements to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
- Support project delivery through technical advice, installation, commissioning, and service transition.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and reports.
- Work closely with customers to deliver excellent service.
- Supervise third-party contractors and ensure work meets required specifications and standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering operations.
Required Skills & Experience
- Higher Education or professional qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Strong understanding of network architecture and data networking principles.
- Experience with Cisco Routers and Linux environments.
- Knowledge of digital communications, fibre optics, modulation, multiplexing, and coding techniques.
- Familiarity with monitoring and diagnostic tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk, VMware vROPS, vRNI, and Log Insight is desirable.
- Experience with ServiceNow FSM and Incident Management is advantageous.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards, health & safety requirements, and service level agreements.
- Strong troubleshooting, testing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
