General Services Manager

We are currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic General Services Manager to join our team and play a key role in driving excellence and innovation in Facilities Management.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of integrated facilities management services, ensuring exceptional service standards across the site.
  • Inspire, develop, and support a diverse team, creating a positive, high-performing culture where everyone can thrive.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, acting as the main point of contact and ensuring their expectations are consistently exceeded.
  • Drive operational excellence by managing multiple services, including catering, cleaning, security, and workplace services.
  • Take ownership of financial performance, managing budgets, controlling costs, and identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Champion health, safety, food safety, and compliance, ensuring all statutory and company standards are met.
  • Monitor service performance through audits, KPIs, and customer feedback, implementing improvements where needed.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management, helping your team develop and reach their full potential.
  • Identify opportunities to grow the business, improve services, and strengthen long-term client partnerships.
  • Work collaboratively with department managers to ensure seamless day-to-day operations across the site.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure the site operates efficiently while delivering outstanding experiences for clients, customers, and colleagues.
Qualifications
  • Previous management experience within facilities management, hospitality, catering, or a multi-service operational environment.
  • A proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop large, diverse teams.
  • Strong commercial and financial awareness, with experience managing budgets, costs, and operational performance.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues at all levels.
  • A customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
  • Experience managing compliance, health & safety, audits, and quality standards within a regulated environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple services simultaneously.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to make decisions and resolve operational challenges effectively.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and operational management systems.
  • An IOSH qualification and Food Safety Level 3 are desirable.
  • A flexible, hands-on leader who leads by example and is committed to driving continuous improvement.
