Senior Software Engineer - Webex Real time Media Engineering Group
Our Webex Real time Media Engineering Group is redefining the future of collaboration. We're building a world where people connect effortlessly across devices and locations, powering Webex Meetings, Webex Calling, and Webex Contact Center.
Location: Central London office near Liverpool Street station. We operate a hybrid model with in office collaboration three times a week.
Responsibilities
- Full Lifecycle Development: Design, develop, test, and deliver new features and improvements to our products in an agile team.
- DevOps & Microservices: Manage the operational side of our highly available micro service architecture and participate in on call rotation.
- Adaptable & Problem Solver: Tackle varied and challenging problems daily, with a data driven focus on quality and rapid skill acquisition.
- Ownership & Quality: Take responsibility for tasks-from building functionality to creating automated tests and investigating issues-maintaining high attention to detail.
- AI: Use AI tools in daily workflow for productivity and contribute to new AI scenarios and opportunities.
- Support & Growth: Receive mentorship, formal training, and support from fellow engineers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's or higher degree in an analytical subject (Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, Physics).
- 10+ years of professional programming experience in C++/C# and willingness to learn new languages.
- Experience with Linux development and running software on Linux.
- Experience with virtualisation and containers, including Docker.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Windows development.
- Experience with data science / AI.
- Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP).
- Exposure to cryptography.
- Familiarity with audio and video coding (e.g., Opus, H.264).
- Familiarity with Git, DevOps, continuous integration, continuous delivery.
