Head of Environment as a Service (EaaS) - UK

To manage the efficient delivery of large scale technical projects and capabilities across the bank and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations throughout the software product lifecycle, adhering to agreed time, budget and quality requirements.

• Manage delivery, resource allocation and improvement of complex technical project capabilities across the bank using Agile/Scrum methodologies for planning, stand ups, demos, retrospectives and sprint execution.• Collaborate with customers and business teams to manage and implement customer trails to support technically feasible solutions and expectation management.• Work with software engineers, quality teams, product managers and other engineering teams to deliver high quality products and features through the software project lifecycle, aligned to the bank's objectives, regulatory and security policies.• Identify, assess and mitigate risks associated with technical projects to prepare the bank for potential challenges.• Manage change requests and communicate with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.• Manage vendor relations involved in technical projects to ensure delivery according to agreed terms.• Stay abreast of the latest industry technology trends and evaluate and adopt new approaches to improve delivery outcomes, fostering a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence and growth.

Set strategy, drive requirements and make recommendations for change. Plan resources, budgets and policies; manage and maintain policies/processes; deliver continuous improvements and address policy breaches. If managing a team, define roles, plan departmental needs, counsel employees, contribute to pay decisions and lead specialists to influence departmental operations. Demonstrate leadership behaviours that create an environment for colleagues to thrive and deliver high standards. For an individual contributor, serve as subject matter expert, guide technical direction, lead collaborative projects, train and coach less experienced specialists, advise stakeholders on impact and alignment, and strengthen controls and governance.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management - Credible senior leader with exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills. Proven track record of building and developing high performing, sustainable teams; ability to engage and influence senior executives and business leaders.

Programme & Project Delivery - Experienced programme and project management professional with a strong delivery focus. Excellent planning, governance and execution capabilities; strong written, verbal and executive level communication skills.

Infrastructure & Enterprise Technology - Strong understanding of infrastructure platforms and enterprise technology environments. Experience operating within regulated, mission critical, high availability organisations; ability to balance strategic priorities with operational delivery.

Desirable Skills - Team leadership in complex environments, modern engineering practices (CI/CD, automation, virtualization, operating systems, networking, observable technologies), inclusive leadership, and the ability to navigate ambiguity, change and competing priorities while maintaining team performance.

This role is based in Knutsford.
