We'd all like amazing work to do, and real work-life balance. That's waiting for you at Sainsbury's. We're the first to say we do HR differently here. For a start, we work as business partners and specialists. Whether that's making sure nearly 150,000 colleagues are paid on time, or shaping a strategy that helps us attract the right people, put them in the right place, and unlock their potential. This is a fast-moving business, and our policies and rewards evolve with it. That's why we're as flexible as we can be about where and when you work. We're also flexible about your future. There's always room to move up or across, if that's what you want. We really value different perspectives, so there's no one opinion, no single path, and yours matters.

Joining the team at Sainsbury's as a People Change & Deployment Partner in Retail, Digital, and Logistics presents a unique opportunity to lead and coordinate impactful people change initiatives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. With a focus on driving operational capacity and business outcomes, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth deployment of transformational projects and products, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders to drive sustainable change. As a key player in our matrix leadership model, you will have the chance to develop your leadership skills, drive continuous improvement, and make a tangible impact on the frontline environments of one of the UK's leading multi-channel businesses.

What you'll do

As the People Change & Deployment Partner for Retail, Digital, and Logistics at Sainsbury's, your primary responsibility will be to lead and coordinate the planning and deployment of people change and products across the assigned portfolio. You will ensure that all people change initiatives are prioritised, sequenced, and aligned with operational capacity and business outcomes, facilitating a smooth transition of change in frontline environments. Operating within a matrix leadership model, you will work closely with transformation teams, the People function, and senior stakeholders to assess people impact, shape deployment approaches, and drive high quality, sustainable deployment through coaching and support to the People Change & Deployment Executives.

Who you are

As a People Change & Deployment Partner for Sainsbury's Retail, Digital, and Logistics Change, you are a seasoned HR professional with a proven track record in leading and implementing people change initiatives within fast-paced and complex organisations. Your strong influencing and partnering skills, coupled with your ability to drive adoption and embed change, enable you to work effectively with senior stakeholders across various functions to ensure smooth deployment of people products and initiatives. With a continuous improvement mindset, leadership experience, and analytical capabilities, you play a crucial role in shaping and delivering sustainable deployment plans that align with operational capacity and business outcomes.

  • Demonstrable experience operating as a People/HR Business Partner and delivering people impacting change within complex, commercial and frontline environments.
  • Proven ability to lead end to end people change deployment, including conducting people impact assessments and translating findings into deployment plans.
  • Demonstrable capability to coordinate multiple concurrent change initiatives, managing dependencies, risks and sequencing to protect operational capacity.
  • Evidence of partnering and influencing senior stakeholders across Retail, Digital, Logistics and People functions to shape and deliver people change.
  • Ability to interpret workforce data and insight to inform deployment decisions, including use of workforce planning, reporting or analytics tools.

We are committed to being a truly inclusive retailer so you'll be welcomed whatever you are and wherever you work. Around here, there's always the chance to try something new - whether that's as part of an evolving team or somewhere else across the business - and we take development seriously and promise to support you. We also recognise and celebrate colleagues when they go the extra mile and, where possible, offer flexible working.

When you join our team, we'll also offer you an amazing range of benefits. You will receive an annual holiday allowance and can buy up to an additional week's holiday. You'll also receive private healthcare, a pension scheme, life cover, and a performance related bonus of up to 20% of salary, depending on how we perform. Other benefits include subsidised colleague discounts, season ticket loans, interest free car loan up to £10k, cycle to work scheme, health cash plans, salary advance options, and a wide range of additional discounts from hundreds of retailers. We also provide an Employee Assistance Programme.

Moments that matter are as important to us as they are to you, which is why we give up to 26 weeks' pay for maternity or adoption leave and up to 4 weeks' pay for paternity leave.
