Senior Engineer (GenAI Platform)
Grant Thornton UK LLP is looking for Senior Engineers to join our CAS practice in the North of England. In this hands on individual contributor role you will empower client facing teams, build solutions that deliver measurable value, and focus on engineering across our GenAI platform.
Responsibilities
- Own delivery end to end, translating business needs into solutions and technical designs.
- Work within a forward deployed engineering team or delivery pod aligned to a service line, alongside a product manager and under the technical direction of a Lead Engineer.
- Apply AI native engineering, using the GenAI platform for backend plumbing, API integrations, MCP server builds, and data connections.
- Design architecture, integrations, and data flow within the platform, using engineering judgement to decide when to solve natively versus bespoke.
- Use AI tooling (e.g., Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) to accelerate development and deliver production grade operational solutions.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure solutions meet client expectations and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Track record of owning end to end delivery in a team based model.
- Experience shipping production software; can discuss decisions made.
- Deep expertise in backend and integration engineering using Python or C# .NET.
- Strong judgement on when to use the platform natively versus bespoke engineering.
- Familiarity with Azure and Microsoft 365 is an advantage.
- Hands on experience with LLM integration patterns, MCP tooling, and AI enabled or agentic development environments.
- Comfortable using GenAI tools such as Copilot, Claude or ChatGPT to prototype and iterate solutions.
