Role Summary

Due to strategic growth, Our Client is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join their Research & Development team. This key role focuses on developing and enhancing their flagship network emulation product family. It offers a fantastic opportunity to work on impactful, high-performance software solutions with a talented team of engineers. The position plays a strategic role in ensuring the products remain at the forefront of technology, supporting ongoing innovation and customer success.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex backend solutions for new product features, taking full ownership from concept to deployment.
  • Collaborate closely with product owners to translate high-level requirements into functional technical deliverables.
  • Contribute to system architecture, ensuring solutions are scalable, flexible, and maintainable as requirements evolve.
  • Estimate development timelines based on functional specifications and deliver high-quality, timely software releases.
  • Support quality assurance activities, including code reviews, testing, and documentation to deliver robust solutions aligned with customer needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years' professional experience in software development, with a focus on performance-critical systems.
  • At least 2 years' expertise working within a Linux environment, utilising GNU toolsets such as gcc and gdb.
  • Proven experience in mentoring and supporting fellow software engineers.
  • Strong proficiency in C++, with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
  • Practical knowledge of network programming, multithreading, and concurrency.
  • Experience in Python programming for scripting and automation.
  • Excellent logical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to decompose complex problems and deliver practical solutions within tight deadlines.
  • Effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
  • Hands on experience designing automated CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
  • Knowledge of high-performance or real-time systems development.
  • Familiarity with Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK) programming.
  • Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms.
  • Knowledge of Terraform and AWS cloud services.
