Job Description

Overview

Senior Software Engineer - Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) based in Epsom & Barbican, London. Hybrid working arrangement. Fixed term contract until end of February 2027 (maternity cover). 37.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver high quality software aligned with enterprise strategy and product goals within an Agile delivery framework.
  • Collaborate with multi functional teams to maintain, improve and evolve digital solutions, primarily the AEM website.
  • Support day to day stability of digital solutions, including component and page development and site performance improvements.
  • Operate within a community of developers and architects, sharing knowledge and adhering to technical standards-especially AEM best practices, component architecture and front end integration.
  • Mentor and support associate and mid level engineers, contributing to broader engineering capability growth.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrable experience developing in AEM 6.x and Java, implementing Templates, Components, Dialogs and Workflows, preferably using AEM as a Cloud Service.
  • Experience with AEM technologies: Apache Sling, OSGi, Java Servlets, HTL/Handlebars, Apache Felix, JCR, Jackrabbit, CRXDE.
  • Experience with performance monitoring and profiling tools to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Proficiency with source control and CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Maven, Adobe Cloud Manager).
  • Experience writing and executing unit, system, performance and integration tests; frontend skills (HTML, CSS/Sass, JavaScript/React) and automated testing.
  • Experience collaborating with product owners, delivery managers and architects; ability to document technical design proposals and communicate effectively.
  • Experience running software in production with monitoring/alerting in place (e.g., New Relic).
Desirable
  • Full stack web development experience (React.js, Node.js, TypeScript) and responsive single page applications.
  • Experience deploying to cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure) and understanding of microservices architecture.
  • Experience with databases (PostgreSQL) and cloud commerce systems (e.g., commercetools); integration with third party services (payment providers, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, and other Experience Platform capabilities).
  • Understanding of SEO and site performance best practices; experience developing cross platform mobile apps (React Native with Expo).
