Technical Coordinator

As a Technical Coordinator with Pertemps Thames Water in Banbury, you will join the Thames Valley North Wastewater Operations team covering areas including the Cotswolds, Cherwell and Oxford. This full time, field based role offers a salary of up to £47,000 per annum, depending on experience. Working 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, you will collaborate closely with Performance Managers and technicians specialising in mechanical, electrical and ICA disciplines.

Hours: 36 per week, Monday to Friday

• Deliver planned and reactive maintenance for wastewater treatment sites, ensuring plant availability and meeting operational KPIs.
• Manage prerequisites within SAP (materials, permits, resources and services) for all complex jobs.
• Use technical expertise and field data to design operationally critical jobs.
• Highlight key operational risks and present them to obtain funding.
• Maintain plant and equipment availability and optimise treatment process performance.
• Develop strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide expert advice on technical issues and generate solutions to operational risks.
• Obtain quotes, order materials and 3rd party services through framework contractors.
• Ensure all aspects of Health and Safety are managed correctly, reviewing RAMS, permitting and conducting site audits.
• Ensure legal statutory maintenance requirements such as lifting equipment, pressure vessels and generators are met.

• Completed a time served apprenticeship or hold a recognised technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Proven, relevant experience as a Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Technician or ICA Technician.
• Strong understanding of plant, equipment and operational processes, preferably within Water or Wastewater Treatment.
• Highly logical, able to decide on and build dependencies between tasks.
• Collaborative, able to work closely with Planners, Field Performance Managers, suppliers and 3rd parties.
• Technically experienced with a good understanding of how to maintain assets.
• Meticulous at documenting finer details of required tasks.
• Able to manage a large workload of numerous jobs in parallel.
• Competent with IT systems (will use SAP extensively) and possess effective communication skills.
• Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues relevant to the industry; IOSH or equivalent qualified preferred.
• A full current driving licence is essential for this position as it involves travelling around sites, with a livery vehicle provided.

• Salary up to £47,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
