About the Team

The Product Analytics and Experimentation team works within the Data & Analytics directorate, delivering data insights, analysis, and experimentation to support Tesco's digital products, including the Tesco Groceries & Clubcard app, website, support centre, and store tills.

Role Summary

As a Junior Analyst, you will collaborate with Product Managers, Optimisation Managers, and Digital Analysts to design and analyze A/B tests, ensuring the reliability of results and the alignment of tracking and measurement across teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to conduct A/B tests and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Analyze customer behavior in experimentation using SQL Hive/Spark, Python, Alteryx, Adobe Analytics.
  • Apply appropriate statistical testing methods to ensure test reliability.
  • Work with Analytics Capabilities and Digital Analytics teams to set up tracking for A/B tests.
  • Forecast financial benefits with the finance team.
  • Learn new analytics techniques and tools rapidly and apply them.
  • Act with integrity and follow the Business Code of Conduct.
  • Explain complex information clearly to stakeholders with varying data understanding.
  • Plan work proactively and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Build effective working relationships across teams and with senior stakeholders.
  • Query data with SQL.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience working with and analyzing data from multiple sources.
  • Strong understanding of A/B testing principles and optimisation.
  • Proactive, self motivated with planning skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Experience querying data with SQL.
Additional Beneficial Experience
  • Exposure to A/B testing tools.
  • Familiarity with web analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics.
  • Relevant quantitative discipline or a similar university degree of 2:1 or higher.
