Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Engineering function in Manchester. You will work with a team responsible for helping customers discover and switch financial products, owning services that support millions of customer journeys each month, and driving customer growth across MoneySuperMarket. The role involves hands-on involvement across the full SDLC, from design and implementation to testing, deployment, and maintenance, in collaboration with product managers, designers, and engineers.
You will join a highly collaborative engineering community that values quality, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement. We invest in pairing, communities of practice, hack days, and technical guilds to help engineers learn and grow. If you are excited about leveraging AI to build better products, you will fit in.
What You'll Do
- Lead feature delivery and drive technical strategy within your team.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver new features to users.
- Collaborate to create intuitive, responsive UIs and ship improvements end-to-end.
- Build and maintain modern single-page applications with a focus on accessibility, performance, and quality.
- Write clean, maintainable code using TypeScript, JavaScript, Vue.js, HTML, CSS, and AWS.
- Champion best practices: TDD, pairing, mob programming, and continuous delivery.
- Ensure security is baked in from the start.
- Debug, optimise, and maintain a high-performing codebase.
- Stay ahead of engineering trends and bring fresh ideas to the table.
- Mentor and support team growth, helping to raise frontend craft.
What We're Looking For
- Care deeply about customer outcomes and solving complex technical problems.
- Take ownership of delivery and technical quality; share knowledge and help others succeed.
- Embrace continuous learning and experimentation.
- Significant experience with modern frontend frameworks (Vue.js preferred; React is valuable).
- Strong fundamentals: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript.
- Experience with automated testing (unit/integration/E2E/performance) and confidence practicing TDD.
- Great code design habits and ability to guide others with thoughtful feedback and coaching.
- Collaborative mindset: enjoy pairing, mob programming, and shipping value quickly in an agile environment.
Nice to Have
- Playwright experience (or similar E2E tooling).
- AWS Amplify and Cognito exposure (or experience building/hosting web apps on AWS).
Benefits & Working Style
- Hybrid working: 2 days in the office, the rest remote.
- Learning culture: dedicated time for development, LinkedIn Learning license, and regular conference attendance.
- Community: hack days, socials, and annual Product & Tech meetups.
- Career growth: clear progression framework and opportunities to move across teams.

- Mental health platform access, financial coaching, and more.
Interview Process
- A call with a Talent Acquisition Team member.
- An interview split into three sections: technical ability questions, a paired programming exercise, and behavioural questions.
