Job Description

Data Governance Specialist - 6 months - Inside IR35 - Hybrid in Warwick

Role Overview

A 6-month hybrid contract role based in Warwick (3 days on-site) for an experienced Data Governance Specialist supporting a large-scale CRM re-platform and billing transformation programme. The role sits at the intersection of business, data, and technology - governing the migration of customer data from Salesforce to Microsoft Dynamics 365, while embedding data governance into a new Charging & Billing solution built on Power Platform. The position is critical to ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and regulatory confidence throughout the transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and enforce data governance standards across migration activities, supporting data mapping, transformation rules, validation, and reconciliation between Salesforce and D365.
  • Establish governance frameworks for charging and billing data models within Power Platform, ensuring auditability, traceability, and compliance of billing data.
  • Define and monitor customer data quality metrics - including accuracy, duplication, and completeness - and drive the creation of a trusted single customer view across CRM, billing, and operational systems.
  • Maintain data catalogues, glossaries, and lineage for customer, charging, and billing data using tools such as Microsoft Purview.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, data privacy requirements, and Ofgem regulatory reporting expectations, while supporting audit readiness and identifying data-related risks.

Top 5 Skills

  • Data governance & quality expertise - 3-5 years in data governance, data quality, or data management roles, with strong experience defining data quality rules, validation, and reconciliation processes.
  • CRM data migration experience - Proven experience on data migration projects, ideally involving CRM platforms, with knowledge of both Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics 365 data structures.
  • Data governance frameworks - Solid understanding of recognised frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, with the ability to embed governance practices into complex transformation programmes.
  • Power Platform & Microsoft tooling - Familiarity with Power Platform (Dataverse) data models, with hands-on exposure to Microsoft Purview and Azure Data Platform being a strong advantage.
  • Stakeholder engagement - Strong ability to partner across business and technical teams, including product owners, data owners, and stewards, acting as a trusted advisor on data governance throughout the programme.
