Responsibilities
- The MET Technician will remove damaged panels and parts to facilitate repairs effectively
- Ensure all displaced components are stored safely and correctly during the repair process
- Inspect vehicles for additional damage, liaising with the Vehicle Damage Assessor to order necessary parts
- Confirm that all parts are correct and available to ensure smooth progress in vehicle repairs
- Carefully refit repaired and painted panels, adhering to manufacturer standards for panel gaps and fit
- Replace mechanical components such as steering, drivetrain, and engine parts where required
- Follow all health and safety regulations and internal procedures diligently
- Attend regular safety training sessions
- Maintain tools and equipment in proper working orderSupport team members during busy periods and perform other activities as required
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in automotive MET or vehicle body repair, or working towards an IMI qualification; MET Technicians with extensive experience in vehicle strip and fit are encouraged to apply
- Proven experience in vehicle repair, especially in bodywork or mechanical component replacement
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Strong organisation skills to prioritise workload independently and effectively
- Attention to detail when refitting panels and components
- A valid UK driving licence with minimal points
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment
