Responsibilities
  • The MET Technician will remove damaged panels and parts to facilitate repairs effectively
  • Ensure all displaced components are stored safely and correctly during the repair process
  • Inspect vehicles for additional damage, liaising with the Vehicle Damage Assessor to order necessary parts
  • Confirm that all parts are correct and available to ensure smooth progress in vehicle repairs
  • Carefully refit repaired and painted panels, adhering to manufacturer standards for panel gaps and fit
  • Replace mechanical components such as steering, drivetrain, and engine parts where required
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and internal procedures diligently
  • Attend regular safety training sessions
  • Maintain tools and equipment in proper working orderSupport team members during busy periods and perform other activities as required
Requirements
  • Recognised qualification in automotive MET or vehicle body repair, or working towards an IMI qualification; MET Technicians with extensive experience in vehicle strip and fit are encouraged to apply
  • Proven experience in vehicle repair, especially in bodywork or mechanical component replacement
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong organisation skills to prioritise workload independently and effectively
  • Attention to detail when refitting panels and components
  • A valid UK driving licence with minimal points
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment
