Job Description

We are looking for Publishing, Assistant and Development Editors on a 12 month fixed term contract. These editors support a portfolio of RSC journals, engaging with authors, reviewers, and editorial boards to ensure high quality, timely publication and to grow the journals' reach.

Role Highlights
  • Work across 4 6 journal titles.
  • Manage peer review, assess and select high quality articles.
  • Invite world class authors and promote content with marketing.
  • Support production (issue make up, themed collections) and rapid publishing.
  • Represent RSC at conferences, maintain online presence, analyse data for strategic planning.
  • Travel within the UK and Europe as required.
Essential Requirements
  • Degree in science or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills; able to work under pressure, prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Team player with initiative and problem solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.
