The Company

Our client is an internationally recognised horticultural business investing heavily in plant genetics, propagation and commercial crop development. They work closely with specialist growers and research teams to deliver high performing plant material to commercial production sites.

The Job

This is an opportunity for someone with a strong scientific or agricultural background to join a specialist Plant Genetics team, playing a key role in ensuring high quality plant material is produced, monitored and supplied for commercial production and research programmes. Working closely with the Nursery Manager, Plant Pathologist and Genetics team, you'll coordinate plant production across multiple nurseries, monitor plant quality and health, support disease testing programmes, and provide technical oversight throughout the plant lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining practical horticulture with scientific thinking and wants to build a career within plant production, genetics or crop development.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate plant production across multiple nurseries.
  • Monitor plant quality and health.
  • Support disease testing programmes.
  • Provide technical oversight throughout the plant lifecycle.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Plant Science, Crop Science, Biology, Plant Pathology, Horticulture or a related discipline.
  • Genuine interest in plant production and plant health.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator, able to work with growers, nurseries and technical teams.
  • Ability to analyse information and maintain accurate technical records.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel to nursery sites.
  • Experience within commercial horticulture, plant production, propagation or nursery operations.
  • Knowledge of plant health, disease management or crop quality assurance.
  • Experience working with agricultural or horticultural data.
  • Understanding of commercial crop production or breeding programmes.
Candidate Requirements

All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.

The Package
  • Salary: £43,000 DOE.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week (typically 8am-5pm).
