Job descriptionAn opportunity is available for an AI & Automation Engineer (Grade 6) within the SRS AI & Automation Team. This role will provide additional delivery capacity to support SRS and partner organisations in delivering an ambitious AI and automation agenda, particularly through the deployment and reuse of existing AI and automation solutions across services.
You will work as part of a specialist, multi organisation team delivering high quality automation and AI enabled services to SRS and all partner authorities. The role will focus on supporting the design, configuration, deployment and operation of automation and AI solutions, working under the guidance of senior engineers and technical leads. The team operates across multiple organisations and stakeholders, so you will be expected to collaborate effectively, work within an agile delivery approach, and contribute to the efficient and consistent rollout of solutions. Key areas include robotic process automation, cognitive automation, AI assisted services and supporting business intelligence solutions.
This post will support the delivery of the SRS and partner AI and automation strategy by helping translate agreed designs and reusable solutions into live, operational services that drive business efficiency and service improvement. The primary technical focus will be on assisting with AI solution deployment, including supporting the use of Amazon Bedrock and Microsoft Azure AI services as part of secure, scalable platforms operated by SRS. You will also work with enabling technologies such as the Microsoft Power Platform and the NDL Evolve suite to integrate AI and automation into business processes, undertake testing and fixes, update documentation, and support end to end service delivery. This role plays a key part in increasing delivery throughput, allowing senior engineers to focus on complex new development while ensuring existing AI capabilities are reused effectively across SRS partners.
