Job IntroductionAn opportunity is available for a Network Management Engineer based at the Midlands Control Centre, Pegasus, Castle Donington.
Reporting to the Control Centre Operations Manager, this full-time role may offer the opportunity of hybrid working when the successful person is fully competent in the role. Hybrid workers should expect to be in the Control Centre a minimum of 2 days per week (may be more during complex faults or outages).
You'll be responsible for the successful planning of outages in an NGED area with due regard to system security and whole-business operational requirements, also supporting the Control Centre by determining the specific running arrangements for system faults and emergencies.
As part of the role, you'll also consider generator curtailment and network constraints in respect of outages, and work to produce the year-ahead plan, whilst considering 5- and 10-year planning.
For appointment in to the role, candidates must have a minimum of a Level 4 / HNC in Engineering that includes some electrical modules. (We would accept applications from candidates already doing their HNC and due to complete within 6 months)
Evidence of your qualifications will be required prior to appointment.
Depending on experience, you may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.
