Overview

Our Store Services team is looking for a Store Services Manager to provide strategic leadership and direction for our team of cleaning, waste and pest management experts in our Knightsbridge store. Store Services is a fundamental part of what makes the Harrods store tick; our experts make sure our cleaning and waste standards are of the very highest order so that customers have a truly superb experience every time they visit. This role covers the PM shift of the team from 12.30pm to 9pm. The working pattern is 5 days over 7, which will include weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Line manage up to 4 team leaders, who in turn manage a large team of cleaning operatives.
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the cleaning services provided and take accountability for the more strategic objectives of the store services business.
  • Be a highly visible manager, keen to be in front of stakeholders to represent the function.
  • Maintain high standards and high performance through regular audits, feedback to the wider team, and ongoing development of team leads.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and negotiate better opportunities with suppliers to maximise service value.
  • Capture issues and record data effectively to improve functionality and demonstrate improvements.
  • Support larger-scope, strategic projects requiring long-term thinking.
  • Work primarily on a day shift, 5 over 7 days, on a 37.5-hour week, with flexibility to work weekends and bank holidays when required.
About You
  • Experience within soft services for a large, multi-faceted building, luxury or heritage establishment with high footfall.
  • Strategic, inspirational leader able to guide teams to success; neutral in escalated situations and able to ask why and challenge where necessary.
  • Confident in dealing with stakeholders, proactive in communicating challenges and meeting with stakeholders regularly.
  • Able to create strong ties to other business areas such as HR, Recruitment and Employee Relations; comfortable reporting in management meetings.
  • Skilled in invoice management and able to improve processes where relevant.
