Job Description

Cloud DevOps Security Engineer

Salary: Circa £74000

Location: Bristol, Norwich, York, Leeds or Leatherhead

Are you someone who thrives on building secure, automated cloud solutions and wants to make a real impact in cyber security?

This is a great role for a hands on engineer with strong AWS and Azure experience who enjoys working at the heart of DevOps, automation, and security engineering.

If you like solving complex problems, improving platforms, and collaborating across teams to keep services secure and reliable, you'll feel right at home here.

A bit about the job

You'll join our Cyber Security Engineering DevOps Squad, where we build and run the cloud platforms that underpin our security services.

In this role, you'll design, deliver, and maintain cloud environments across AWS and Azure, making sure they're secure, scalable, and built for the future. You'll also shape how we collect and use security data-building log ingestion pipelines and integrating new data sources to strengthen our detection capabilities.

Working closely with other cyber and engineering teams, you'll help automate processes, improve how we deploy solutions, and make sure everything we build meets our security standards. From infrastructure as code to CI/CD pipelines, your work will directly support how we protect our systems and customers.

Skills and experience we're looking for:
  • Hands on experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms
  • Strong scripting skills (Python and/or PowerShell), including API driven automation
  • Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, and Git based CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of cloud security fundamentals, including IAM, networking, and secure configuration
  • Experience integrating log sources into SIEM or security monitoring platforms
What you'll get for this role
  • Salary Circa: £74000 (depending on location, skills, experience and qualifications)
  • Bonus opportunity: 10% of annual salary - Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva's
  • Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in
  • 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, and you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days
  • Aviva funded Private Medical Benefit to help you get expert support when you need it
  • Up to 40% discount on Aviva products, and other retailer discounts
  • Up to £1,200 of free Aviva shares per year through our Matching Share Plan and share in the success of Aviva with our Save As You Earn scheme
  • Brilliantly supportive policies including parental and carer's leave
  • Flexible benefits to suit you, including sustainability options such as cycle to work
  • Make a difference, be part of our Aviva Communities and use your 3 paid volunteering days to help others

We take your wellbeing seriously with lots of support and tools.
