Job Title: Senior Administrator (First Contact)

School/Department: Student & Academic Services

Work Arrangement: Part Time (Hybrid)

Contract: Permanent

Joining a fast paced, student facing team that provides triage career support, assists with part time work searches and other work experience opportunities.

Overview

The Senior Administrator will support the Careers & Employability Service by delivering high level administrative support, customer service to students and employers, and managing employability projects.

Main duties and responsibilities
  • Provide high level administrative and organisational support across all functions administered by the Student Jobshop and First Contact team.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to students, graduates and stakeholders.
  • Assist students searching for jobs and placements and prepare them for the workplace.
  • Support the effective delivery of employability projects and maintain accurate systems.
  • Generate part time work with local employers through networking events and proactive marketing.
  • Follow up with employers and discuss recruitment needs.
  • Organise and deliver activities such as the Part time Jobs Fair and Inspiring Student Worker Awards.
  • Produce evaluations, reports and presentations relating to employability activities.
  • Monitor and review processes to ensure excellent service and identify improvements.
  • Represent CES at university events such as Career Fairs and Open Days.
  • Carry out other duties as required.
Person Specification

Experience and skills required:

  • Previous administrative experience within an office or reception environment.
  • Good customer service skills and ability to handle enquiries efficiently.
  • Understanding of employability support for higher education students.
  • Proficient with business software (Google Suite, social media tools).
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross cultural communication skills.
  • Strong time management and ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Independent problem solving and team collaboration.
  • Attention to detail in record keeping and process following.
  • Analytical skills for evaluating activity and producing reports.
  • Knowledge of employment legislation and local markets.
